CHALLENGE: Creating, converting and maintaining one of the largest health-care systems responsible for digital records of patients for 7 different hospitals.

COGENT Solution:

Our team developed web applications for both large and embedded systems. The patient information first flows from a variety of different medical systems like CT Scans, MRIs and other non-complaint systems to a central repository. This repository receives 100-1000s of records each day which is then used in our main web application.

 

The application is written using Java and Microsoft products .NET/C#/SQL server 2005. The development involved high level modularization, careful coding and creating platform independent web products. Hence Java and Java Applets are also been used when necessary.

 
TOOLS USED: Java, Microsoft.NET, Visual Studio.NET, C#, Visual Studio 6.0, Visual SourceSafe, C/C++, SQL server 2003/2005, HTML, DHTML, CSS, Javascript, WebServices.

The application was made secure by writing hardware level drivers to make the web applications interact with Hardware security products called eToken. The driver was written in C/C++ and deployed using ActiveX controls mechanism.
